Trust in Dust All Over Again – Stofskop Returns Once More!

Photos by Disruptive Intent

Stofskop, once again Powered by Motul, has the recipe for a fun family Saturday. With a reputation as the fun social motorcycle event, the organisers have adopted an approach of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ for this year, (although this may not apply to some of the motorcycles that have been entered). In other words, two-wheeler fans will know just what to expect, when Stofskop returns to the familiar surroundings of Johannesburg’s Randfontein Raceway on Saturday, 7 September 2024.

It is always an opportunity for owners and fans alike to dress up, be a little bit nuts, and put the most unlikely of motorcycles through their paces. With over 75 entries already received and heading towards capacity fast, this year’s event is on track to be the biggest, loudest edition of Stofskop yet.

As usual this year’s Stofskop will feature all the usual categories plus, the Pit Bike Brawl and Sidecar Shenanigans will be returning for a second year, due to popular demand. There will also be the usual food vendors to keep you fed and hydrated while the dust is kicked up by the inappropriate Road Bikes, Chops & Bobbers, Scramblers & Trackers, Plastic Pigs, and the Vespas and scoots in the Moped Mash category. As always, safety will be taken seriously, but apart from that, there are no rules. The team from Motul will be on hand with a bunch of other exhibitors as well, so there should be lots to keep you entertained.

“We’re delighted to continue our support for Stofskop – it’s one of the events we most look forward to each year,” commented Mercia Jansen, Motul General Manager for Southern and Eastern Africa. “Having partnered with the Stofskop team from the very beginning, we remain committed to supporting grassroots racing and growing the wider motorcycle family. This is an event for everyone – if you don’t love motorbikes before Stofskop, we guarantee you will by the end of the day,” she added.
