Ok,yes! We know that we are a motorcycle publication but remember:
At some stage we all need to fit tyres, and most off-road peeps will take their vehicles well off the beaten tracks…
We use our old faithful Pajero for towing and backup duties and, very often on recce’s and forays into the vêr verlaate vlaktes. With the economy being what it is, we have tried some of the (dare we say cheap) imported tyres in an attempt to keep costs down. This has been an exercise in futility due to the nature of what we do. We have destroyed the tyres on stumps, branches, glass and detritus associated with serious 4×4 use.
As you do, we moaned…. A lot. But the age-old adage that “Goedkoop is Duurkoop” stands true.
We bit the bullet and invested in a set of the new Grandtrek AT3G tyres and guess what? More than 3000 HARD, abusive kilometres in, we’ve had no flats or issues whatsoever. And the vehicle still drives just great on the tar.
So, we guess this is a kind of endorsement. Next time you need to replace, after some serious abuse these ones come very highly recommended.
Here’s the skinny:
