The annual ride for the Sunfields home in Balfour was a roaring success this year. People came from far and wide to enjoy the trails – and to spread some Christmas cheer.
Bakkie loads of provisions are delivered along with substantial donations. Thank you guys!
The Sunfields home is a place of safety for people with physical and mental disabilities and this ride, hosted by The Adventure Company has become a real highlight for them.
Since 1991, they have been caring for upward of 70 residents, providing for their social, physical and medical needs.
At 9 am sharp, riders rumbled down the road with bakkie loads of gifts for the home. The goods were delivered and the residents treated everyone to a few cool Christmas carols.
It’s a heartwarming thing for sure and kind of puts things into perspective a bit.
Some riders suffered from MLOT on the day...Momentary Loss Of Talent.
From the home, the guys and girls were treated to a great long ride through the Balfour countryside. The perfect way to get the Christmas season started!
From the Adventure Company:
“Guys for years you have supported this ride and by extension, the home. We say thank you! It’s always fantastic – and this year you really made a huge impact. The home uses your donations to keep things running. As Long as the farmers in the area allow us access to the trails, we’ll keep this ride going. Thank you for your donations. To We Sell Parts bike shop, Leatt and the Autocycle group, a big thank you for the prizes through the year. Heres wishing everyone a very merry Christmas.!”
