If you’ve never heard of Stofskop, then best you climb out from under that rock and get your sorry ass out to have a look and maybe even go racing.
Why?
Because it’s flippen awesome! That’s why…
More pics to follow soon…
Stofskop: Powered by Motul.
“The Stofskop is a social motorcycle event inspired by the idea of providing an affordable flat track day on the dirt oval. This annual event started in 2016 with a small break for a pandemic. It’s a fun day out for both motorcycle enthusiasts and spectators.
The track is oval, flat and dirt. There is the smell of petrol in the air. Hook first gear, the flag is up…..it’s a Stofskop.
So step up & dress up for Stofskop classes such as:
Inappropriate Road Bikes, Moped Mash, Plastic Pigs, Chop’s & Bobbers, Scramblers & Trackers
Alongside the wacky riding are vendors supplying food, craft beer, bike bits, beards, dust, and other stuff. So pull on your boots and pack in the kids for a day in the dust.”
And that’s exactly what it is!
Bikes of all shapes and sizes are dragged out of their dingy garages, serviced, fuelled and pointed in the direction of a dirt oval.
The rules? Well there are no real rules… wear a helmet and try not to crash and break your ass.
Who won?
Well, actually, we have no bloody clue really…. and we are not even sure that anyone actually cares… It’s all about getting out and having fun, and if you do happen to win a heat, or two or three… well that’s great!
Racing kicked off at 12, four laps per heat as many heats as you can get in until cut off time at four bells. And that was plenty of action…
We saw bikes of all shapes and sizes from pit bikes, to Vespa’s, 1000cc Firestorms to 1200 cruisers. Ural sidecar rigs, even a little pocket bike that had to be carried across the finish line because the fuel tank was too small to complete all four laps.
Quite a few spills were had, most notably National road racing star Clint Sellar who came pipe off his Honda 125cc delivery bike not once, not twice but 3 times… There’s a lot to be said for all the tech that goes into his Fireblade…
The dirtbike boys put on a great display with Brian Capper on a mighty CR500 putting on a great show, but believe it or not, he may, or may not have been beaten by a lightie on a 300SX… nobody actually knows.
Dakar star Ross Branch showed the delivery men Bogiages, Mahoney, Curtis, Capper and Sellar how it’s meant to be done when he showed the boys a clean set of wheels on his Hero 150… until the last heat, when he had fuel issues.
His fuel tap might have been on…. or it wasn’t.
Who knows… Everyone cheated anyway and cut across the field to roars of approval from the crowd.
But did they cheat? Nobody’s actually sure.

So much fun, both to ride and to see and so great to see this event back after the whole lockdown thing interrupted play. So many people went out to watch, old friends, new friends and lots of kiddies out to enjoy the day.
Enjoy the pics, what you see is what you get and we’ll pop a video up on all the madness on our You-Tube channel as soon as we can.
Stofskop – welcome back!
It was Great!
See you next year!
