Montecasino was the chosen battle grounds for the first S.A Enduro X event, the first of its kind in South Africa. What a great show it was and with 98 riders competing, it got quite insane. The track was prepped and ready to go – basically a bunch of seemingly insane man made obstacles in a circuit. Then, just for fun the rain made it even more entertaining…

Montecasino is a cool venue for events like this – you’ll know we always cover the King Of the whip – and that’s where this lot got the idea.
We watched riders of all ages and skill sets take on the gruelling conditions.
The track and all its obstacles proved to be a bit much for some as some of the riders got caught out by rocks, logs, tyres and cinder blocks. It was cool to see the Junior riders assisted all around the track by Senior riders willing to lend a helping hand.
First up was an hour-long qualifying session that was split by 10 groups of 10 riders to see who could put up the best times.
The races were then split according to times.
There were two races for the three classes, Support Class was for the Juniors and the Ladies, Pro-Am and Pro Class.
The Support Class qualifying consisted of either 4 laps or 6 minutes, the Support Class track was shorter with an option of either going over or under a big cinder block.
The Pro-Am and Pro Classes consisted of 5 laps or 6 minutes.
Over or Under.
The top riders per class in qualifying were as follows…
Pro Class – Riley Filen 00:00:40 sec.
Pro-Am Class – Gabriel du Toit 00:00:49 sec.
Support Class – Bevan Prost 00:00:56 sec.
