Rieju

Rieju Motorcycles On The Way

Rieju is a Spanish outfit that makes dirtbikes. They will be in SA soon…

There is a glut of new machinery making its way into SA. Recently we have welcomed CFMOTO, Royal Enfield, QJ and Fantic. BETA is making its mark and now a brand called Rieju is about to join the dirtbike fray…

DDS Enduro in Edenvale has been appointed as the importers of the Rieju brand in SA and a shipment of MR300’s are inbound.

The Rieju motorised bicycle

But who is Rieju?

Nope, they are not a Chinese or Japanese outfit, Rieju is in fact, Spanish.

They originally started making bicycle accessories in 1934, producing their first bicycle in 1942.

They built their first motorized moped in 1947 and have since, focussed on small-to-medium-displacement motorcycles (typically 49cc to 500cc), dual-sport/adventure bikes, and off-road/enduro machines. They build scooters, Nakeds, Aventures… it’s a proper setup.

As we understand it, they literally took the old GasGas factory when that brand was bought out.

The Reiju MR 300i RACING is an Enduro machine designed, they say, for toughest terrains. The Spanish made 300cc 2-stroke engine, complete with a soft, diaphragm clutch features Bosch TFI electronic injection, “Developed they say, to offer immediate response and total torque control.”

The bike features three power maps for varying terrain and conditions. The bike comes with top shelf, fully adjustable 48mm KYB suspension with linkage. EXCEL rims, Mitas Terraforce tyres and an exhaust by OXA with an electronic exhaust valve. Up front you’ll find Neken handlebars and grips and under the saddle is a lithium ion battery. Nissin and Galfer take care of braking duties.

The fuel tank takes 9,8 litres and the bike has a dry weight of 102.6KG’s.

As expected – full LED lighting all round and – it looks seriously cool.

The bikes are expected any second now! Full feature when they land in SA.

More news is that Reiju also makes some small capacity nakeds and ADV machines. Plans are afoot to bring some of those in with the next shipment…

We’ll keep you posted.
