If there is one thing that gets dirt-bike people out of bed and into their riding gear, it’s a day filled with bikes, good vibes and a whole lot of dirt. the 2026 Dunlop Day in the Dirt teamed up with Ridgeway Racebar and Yamaha SA to deliver exactly that, with hordes of peeps turning up to join the fun!
There were so many riders that organisers had to split everyone into smaller groups to keep things running smoothly. Both the main track and kiddies’ track were open and prepped, and the best part?
All bikes and all riders were welcome! There was something for everyone, whether you were there to send it, take it easy or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
Things got properly exciting when Ridgeway Racebar and Yamaha South Africa gave away a brand-new Yamaha YZ250F Hayden Deegan Race Replica. Ten lucky finalists were drawn, but there could only be one winner. The final showdown? A game of cornhole! After a bit of aiming, tossing and plenty of anticipation, Dale Joubert walked away with a seriously lekker prize.
Of course, no dirt-bike gathering would be complete without a bit of flying action. Jungle Rush FMX kept the crowd entertained with high-flying freestyle tricks, while the Millside Racing Xtreme Trials Show delivered its own dose of excitement, with some close calls and seriously cool riding skills.
There was plenty happening off the track, too. Vendors kept everyone fed and watered, while the kiddies could enjoy face painting and a balloon artists. Free slushies and popcorn added to the fun, and visitors could spin the Dunlop Wheel for a chance to win some awesome Dunlop goodies.
All in all, Dunlop Day in the Dirt was an epic day out. The event was well organised, exceptionally well attended and packed with the sort of fun that reminds us why we love this dirt-bike community in the first place.
