CFMOTO

CFMOTO News

Who is CFMOTO?

You’ll see the CFMOTO brand more and more in the future. They have a great range of ATV’s and Side By Sides and have established quite a dealer network in SA over the last few years.

They recently gave us two of their ATV’s to ride – and we need to tell you that we are suitably impressed.

Any value option is great these days, but the age old question pops up:

Who are they, where are they made and what’s the backup like?

Locally, the brand is imported by FC brands, the people responsible for the Can Am brand in SA. So they have a track record and know about parts, backup and all that stuff.

So. Who is CFMOTO?

CFMOTO was founded in 1989 as an engine manufacturer and quickly transitioned to engineering and building its own engines.

It has always held a significant presence in China’s domestic market including supplying government vehicles for police and fire while developing a name for itself as a manufacturer of feature-rich engines, parts, ATVs, side-by-sides, scooters, and motorcycles worldwide.

CFMOTO has brought ATVs and SXS to the SA market.

CFMoto has over 58% of the ATV market in Europe.

Yes – they are the top selling ATV brand in Europe, ahead of the likes of Polaris, Can-Am, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki… everyone you could name in the quad world.

In the States, they have more than 570 dealers with big plans for future model development, which will trickle down to other markets globally.

CFMOTO vehicle lines are currently manufactured in Thailand and China alongside other major global motorsports names, with plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Mexico in 2024.

Their components are to be found on nearly 1900 companies globally, of which, its joint venture with KTM the most significant.

A 25 per cent share of CFMOTO stock was floated on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2017.

Interestingly, CFMOTO also builds KTM’s 790 for markets around the globe.
