Race report and photos by Deon vdl Photography.
We found ourselves at Dirt Bronco for the third instalment of the Inland MX Series. It was not the biggest turn out we have seen, maybe due to the holidays. Still a day that brought us a mixture of fun, excitement and a couple thrills and spills, still a great day nonetheless.
50cc JNR/SNR:
JNR Class – The youngsters went out for their practice session with one thing on their minds, putting up the best time and getting the best spot behind the gates. In the end it was #88 Reestin Bartlett taking his KTM and getting the fastest lap time. #18A Garry Hamer was next and then #30 Brayden Tucker making the top three all KTM riders.Â
Race 1 – As they took off towards turn 1 all bundled up, they came face to face with the big table top and as they went flying into the air the race was on. As the laps started to fall #30 Bartlett started making a gap, he crossed in 1st place taking the win by 19.336sec. #18a Hamer took a big 2nd place by over a minute as #212 Axel Sutherland came through in 3rd.
Race 2 – Saw little Tucker with an astonishing pace that was way too much for the rest to cope with taking his second win for the day by over 43sec. Hamer once again created a gap to give him a solid 2nd. Taking the flag in 3rd place was #914 Jadyson Joao.
SNR Class – #20 Luan Jordaan took his practice run to give a glimpse of his dominance that will be delivered throughout the day. He set the best time by over 8sec. #38 Hayden Kasser was 0.125sec quicker than #6 Millan Roux and that was our top three.
Race 1 – Step 1 of #20 Jordaan’s Dominance was in full effect as he just pulled away from the pack and kept going until he won the first race by over 38sec. #38 Kasser had a good run to take 2nd and #118 Mason Pereira Vrey followed to take 3rd.
Race 2 – Jordaan had his bike fully pinned as he just dusted off his competition taking 1st place by 52.718sec. Keeping it in the same order #38 Kasser made it two 2nd places and #118 Pereira Vrey with another 3rd.

Race 1 – When the gates dropped #21 Bako had no intention of making things as close as it was in practice and powered his way to a 20.982sec win. #777 Brown took 2nd and #13 Thomas Spear clung to 3rd place.

MX 1 & MX Support:
MX 1 Class – The top dog class took things kind of easy in their practice run leaving their cards hidden for the two Heats of racing. Top Three included #4 Dylan da Silva 0.291se ahead of #411 Joshua Mlimi and #135 Dean Wheeler close behind.
Race 1 – #135 Dean Wheeler with a clean break got to turn 1 first with #411 Mlimi hot on his tail, this was a dog fight all the way to the chequered flag with Wheeler beating Mlimi by 0.013sec and 31sec later #746 Adriano Catalano seizing 3rd.Â
Race 2 –Â Â Wheeler and Mlimi was at it again until Mlimi caught a break and started to pull away from Wheeler. #411 Mlimi completed his run in 1st place by 9sec before Wheeler crossed in 2nd and #746 Catalano taking 3rd yet again.

Race 1 – #312 Olivier was on fire as he smoked his Support opposition by 1:56.437sec to take a massive 1st place. #34 Gildenhuys still came through with an easy 2nd place and 3rd was taken by #49 Matthew Reynolds.
Race 2 – Olivier was not going to have it as easy as he did in this race as Gildenhuys had him looking over his shoulder constantly, #312 Olivier took the flag in victory with #34 Gildenhuys close behind in 2nd and once again #49 Reynolds in 3rd.
                                              Overall Results.

65cc:Â
Like I said a day full of entertainment the 65cc Class also delivered. Let us look at the top five riders times from the rider in front of them. Fastest #65 Mikah Hendrickse, #312 Qhamani Thu 0.085sec, #101 Christiaan Bellingan 0.992sec, #19 Tommy Wotherspoon 0.735sec, #40 Hendrico Barwise 0.926sec. That was some great riding to keep top five within less than 3sec apart.
Race 1 – #101 Christiaan Bellingan had a proper run as he steamed his way to a big win of over 18sec. #66 Mikah Hendrickse took 2nd with a photo finish as #312 Qhamani Thu followed in 3rd by 0.001sec.
Race 2 – Hendrickse and Thu had so much fun in the previous race that they thought it would be best for the spectators if they gave them another nail biting race just to keep things interesting. #66 Hendrickse was the one who crossed the line first with #312 Thu right next to him taking second by 0.009sec. #19 Tommy Wotherspoon took 3rd.
Overall Results.

MX 2:
Things were only kept close in the practice session in this class, #136 Mark-Anthony Filip kept in front of #228 Louis Mostert by 4.030sec and he was 3.072sec quicker than #446 Shaigon Bister.Â
Race 1 – #136 Filip did not manage to get the holeshot and went into turn 1 mid-pack, but for each lap that fell Filip gained ground so much so that he ended up winning the race by nearly 44sec. #21 Emmanuel Bako also raced well taking 2nd place 39.842sec over #228 Louis Mostert in 3rd.
Race 2 – I think that #136 Filip was not entirely happy with the results of Race 1 and decided he would like to give the fans an even bigger win, and he did win this time by 53.446sec. #21 Bako still had a strong finish taking 2nd again by just over 28sec and #228 Mostert followed suit in 3rd place.

Race 2 – Fourie had his hands full as he had to deal with Bezuidenhout who came out very strong in this race the two fought hard for the top step of the podium that was once again claimed by #555 Fourie, but only just by 0.315sec as #91 Bezuidenhout ever so close in 2nd and #91 Schlebusch grabbing 3rd.

MX 3 Vets:
This practice session was quite cool to watch as we saw the Wheeler brothers take the two fastest times for the day then seeing a purple 150cc 2-stroke crossing the line 1.513sec behind the brothers. Yes the #718 bike of James Lottering is not standard, but still impressive.
Race 1- #135 Dean Wheeler had a stellar performance as he made his way to the front and stayed there until the chequered flag waved him in for the win. #73 Brandon Wheeler finished 8.897sec in 2nd place and #717 Wayne Meyer was there to pick up the 3rd spot.
Race 2 – Once again it was all about the Wheelers as the siblings out rode the pack. #135 Dean beat his brother to 1st place by 10.230sec and #73 Brandon out ran #717 Wayne Meyer by 11.181sec for 2nd. #718 Lottering crept closer and closer to Meyer and on the last lap of the last race trying to pull away a tear off, Lottering went down hard and got knocked out in the process. The Medics responded within a few seconds to help out James. He was taken to the medic centre and after a good check up James walked away with a few bruises and a slight headache, but he walked away to fight another day.
Overall Results.
1st #135 Dean WheelerÂ
2nd #73 Brandon WheelerÂ
3rd #717 Wayne Meyer
