The Western Cape Off-Road Club (WCOC) is proud to announce an exciting new chapter for cross country racing in the Western Cape, driven by a newly appointed committee and a renewed commitment to growing the sport at both grassroots and competitive levels.
Under the leadership of Kobus Kroon as Chairman and Nicol Basson as Vice Chairman, the club enters the 2026 season with clear vision, strong momentum, and an unwavering passion for off-road racing. The new committee is focused on strengthening the regional championship, improving rider participation, and building sustainable pathways for riders to progress from club level to national competition.
A Strong 2026 Regional Championship
The 2026 season will feature five official Motorsport South Africa (MSA) regional cross country events, offering riders professionally organised, well-marked routes that showcase the diverse terrain the Western Cape is known for. These events will cater for both Junior and Senior Championships, ensuring opportunities for young talent as well as experienced competitors to race in a competitive yet welcoming environment.

- 21 February 2026 – WCOC Fundraiser, Lemonskop (Caledon)
- 28 March 2026 – Heuningneskloof (Caledon)
- 30 May 2026 – Worcester
- 25 July 2026 – Boesmansrivier (Baardskeerdersbos)
- 29 August 2026 – Stormsvlei (Riviersonderend)
- 10 October 2026 – Swartbergvlei (West Coast)
Each event is designed to deliver safe, flowing, and challenging racing suitable for all classes, with a strong emphasis on rider experience, course quality, and operational professionalism.
Building Toward National Representation
WCOC is proud to have several riders currently competing in the national cross country championship, representing the Western Cape with distinction. One of the club’s key objectives for 2026 is to motivate and support more regional riders to step up to national level, creating a stronger Western Cape presence on the national stage.
At the same time, WCOC extends an open invitation to riders from all regions to join us and experience our events. Known for clearly marked routes, fair racing, and friendly organisation, Western Cape events offer an ideal platform for competitive racing and enjoyable race weekends.
Celebrating 2025 Success
The club also reflects proudly on a successful 2025 season. Among the standout performances was Jeandré Radyn, who claimed the overall 2025 WCOC Championship title aboard his Dirtrider KTM 350 EXC-F. His consistency, speed, and professionalism throughout the season epitomised the competitive spirit and sportsmanship that WCOC strives to promote.
