Last weekend, the family and I joined the guys from The Adventure Company for an outride near Heidelberg. We’ve all just recently started riding, myself again at the tender age of 45 and Mrs and the kids have just started. We did not want a “Baptism of fire” so to speak and this one seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
We called to enquire and the friendly lady on the other end of the line had us convinced.
“There are lots of hands to help and back up all along the route.”
She was correct. The route was brilliantly marked, yes, we did not listen correctly and got lost once when we followed some other riders… Green Means NO GO!.
The people were all cool, and when my daughter had a moment where she did not want to cross a big ditch, a giant of a man stopped, hopped off his quad and took the bike through for her.
(Thank you Hannes!)
It was a great day, some of it was tough, but everybody was smiling and lots of hands got us through the 85 or so kilometres!
It was such a fun day! Some of it (for us anyway) was quite tough, but everybody was smiling and lots of hands got us through the 85 or so kilometres!
If you had told me before the ride that we’d all get through, I might have laughed at you.
My kids have not stopped talking about it.
My Son even got a cap from Honda. Thanks man!
Now there’s a ride in December and we are already booked and raring for it.
We hear that the Sunfields ride is a highlight on the JHB riding scene’s calendar and we’ll be there for sure!
