For the last 16 years, the guys from The Adventure Company have taken the Sunfields Home for the physically and mentally disabled under their wing. Every year they rope in hundreds of riders and donate lots of goods to the home just in time for Christmas.
Like most NGO’s, the Sunfields Home depends on donations and motorcyclists are generally a very generous bunch.
This year was no exception, Honda South Africa and Octane Strapz tie downs sponsored prizes for the lucky draw.
Santa let the horde in and the parlour was filled with everything from a welder, to a wheelchair, a lawnmower and mealie meal.
It was touching to see how many bakkies arrived – people who did not join the ride, but still wanted to donate.
There were even a few adventure riders who stopped off, donated gifts and then took off for a trailie day in the saddle.
Â
All in, such a lekker day through the farmlands surrounding the home. Muddy smiles all round and a bit of sweat for the bikes on the more technical loops.
A great way to catch the Christmas spirit!
A very big thank you to all of the landowners, farmers and people who allow us to ride. We all seriously appreciate it!Â
