Riders made their way to Ridgeway MX Park near Rayton for Round 3. After weeks of rain that has made racing nearly impossible, it was great to have a dry race.
The track was quite tricky in the early morning, but got better through the day, with only a few muddy sections to deal with.

Heat 1.
The little engines roared to life as the gates dropped and thanks to the qualifying round there were a few nice paths carved into the more muddy sections for the youngsters to take without getting stuck. The first JNR rider to cross the finish line was #112 Logan Fulton who took the win, #18 Garry Hamer took 2nd with #14 Milan le Roux in 3rd place.
Heat 2.
In the last heat, Garry Hamer had a better run and kept his lines clean all the way to claim 1st place. #112 Logan Fulton came through in 2nd with #149 Salvador Bastos in 3rd.
Seniors.
Heat 1.
With a great start #30 Brayden Tucker took the lead and started to leave the pack behind. A few laps in #6 Millan Roux closed the gap, catching up quickly. Tucker crossed in 1st with Roux on his back wheel in 2nd. #17 Hanro Jacobs finished in 3rd place.
Heat 2.
After such a close race in Heat 1, Tucker went all in for the last race. He picked all the right lines and powered his way to another win, Roux had a great fight for second with #11 Gianno Ferreira. The flag came out and Roux took 2nd with Ferreira not far behind in 3rd.

Heat 1.
The riders in the MX2 Class made for great entertainment with some good racing throughout.
 Some riders chose the less muddy outside line while others relished the deep muddy ruts.
#717 Calum Mariott was unfazed with it all and took a comfortable 1st place with #210 Blake Osner finishing in 2nd and #200 Matthew Correira in 3rd.
Heat 2.
The riders started their race with all 18 riders attacking the first corner. As the race neared the end, it was Marriott out in front with Correira chasing him down. Marriott held him off to cross the line for the win with Correira following in 2nd and Osner in 3rd place.

From the start, #246 Ryan Boggett carried great pace as he fought his way through the track and gave himself some breathing room pulling away from the rest of the pack. He took the win with #133 Deagan Preston coming through in 2nd. GXCC man #602 Rogan Schwim followed in 3rd place.
In Heat 2. Boggett was not going to let anyone stand in his way to take the double win. He pushed hard all the way to the end to take the win. Preston took 2nd again and this time it was #413 Rocco Kapp who claimed 3rd place.
85cc Pro.
Heat 1.
From early on in the race, #280 Kabelo Ledwaba was on the throttle and started to put a good gap between him and the other riders. Ledwaba didn’t let up and rode his way to a big win. #15 Lleyton Botha finished in 2nd place with #312 Qhamani Thu in 3rd.
Heat 2.
Once again, Ledwaba made his way to the front leaving the rest to catch up. With some good riding, Ledwaba again took 1st place. Botha followed in 2nd with #78 Keagan Crawford in 3rd.

Heat 1.
It was time for the kids on the 65cc bikes to show what they were made of and with a puff of smoke, they started their race. As the laps dropped, the field pread out with #333 Parker Cik leading. Cik kept his eye on the prize and took 1st place. He was followed by #20 Luan Jordaan in 2nd with #117 Trey Dean in 3rd.
Heat 2.
It was clear from early on in the race that Cik was in the hunt for another win. He held it wide and claimed the double win and 1st overall. Jordaan was unchallenged for 2nd place with Trey Dean filling the 3rd step.

Heat 1.
The more experienced riders took their spots behind the gatesand as they dropped they were off.
#50 Nicolaas van der Linden was just too quick, taking a comfortable 1st place. #187 Ty Taylor claimed 2nd with #46 Jonathan Meyer in 3rd.
Heat 2.
Nicolaas van der Linden was on fire as he started to flow through the track and with nothing standing in his way, he rode to his second win for the day.Â
#37 Craig Maynier had a much better race in the last heat and took 2nd with Taylor finishing in 3rd.
Grand Masters.
Heat 1.
In the Grand Master Class #7 Gary Killian rode the wheels off his Honda as he took the early lead. He stayed focused and took the flag for the win, #47 Shaun Lloyd finished in 2nd with #159 Adrian Maguire in 3rd place.
Heat 2.
Lloyd, with a good start made his way to the front to lead his class. He stayed there to take the win. Killian followed in 2nd place with Maguire taking 3rd.

As the race got going it was #21 Jessica Osner who found herself leading the pack. Without skipping a beat, Osner made her way over the finish line to take 1st place. #16 Kelly Beegte came through in 2nd followed by #110 Emily Pienaar in 3rd.
Heat 2.
The race was well underway with Beegte and Osner fighting for first place. it was a dice to the death, but eventually it was Beegte who claimed the win, Osner took 2nd with Pienaar finishing in 3rd place.

18 riders made their way to take their place behind the starting gates and when the gates dropped, it was all out racing!
#418 Cruz Martin schooled his fellow riders as he powered his way to the win, with #3 Asher Brown in 2nd and #80 Kabelo Ledwaba following in 3rd position.
Heat 2.
Coming out of the gates, #114 Damion Venter took the fight to Martin.
The two riders went at it tooth and nail and at the end it was Venter who clinched 1st place. Martin was not far behind in 2nd with #11 Deruk van Aswegen in 3rd.

Heat 1.
The Support class put on quite a show with some close racing. In the front we had #16 Chae Rouillon holding a good pace as he made his way to the finish line to claim the win. Not far behind #32 Brandon Meyer followed in 2nd with #33 Blake Levey taking 3rd.
Heat 2.
Heat 2 was just as exciting as Rouillon and Meyer went at it, both riders were giving it all they had throughout. It was Rouillon who managed to take the double win with Meyer in an even closer 2nd and Levey finishing in 3rd place.

It was time for the premier class to keep the fans entertained and that is exactly what they did.Â
#337 Slade Smith stole the show from the early on at a speed that could not be matched. He took a convincing win. #746 Adriano Catalano crossed the line in 2nd with #200 Matthew Correira following in 3rd place.
Heat 2.
It was clear from early on that Smith was not going to be stopped, he had excellent pace and kept it pinned. Catalano with some great riding of his own took 2nd, followed by Correira in 3rd.
MX3 Vets.
Heat 1.
#73 Brandon Wheeler quickly pulled a gap from the riders in his class and just kept going until he took the flag. #717a Wayne Meyer claimed 2nd with #100 Sean Strunkheide in 3rd.Â
Heat 2.
Again Wheeler made his way into the lead and kept a tight racing line that saw him cross for his second win of the day and 1st overall.
Strunkheide had a better run and took 2nd place with #34 Greg Gildenhuys finishing 3rd.
