There are two RAD KTM Stores. One is in Paarl in The Cape and the other is in Rivonia. We don’t envy these guys even a little, because in the last month, while many were enjoying their long weekends, they were moving both stores, lock, stock and barrel to shiny new premises.
We like what they have done!
Paarl:
The Paarl branch is easily accessible with great parking and a lekker KTM family feel to it. The previous shops were both spectacular to the ‘enth degree, but all somewhat hidden behind other buildings requiring good knowledge of some wiggly roads that even got the GPS confused occasionally.
The new premises are on the corner of a brand new major intersection, which will be the new major route to Franschhoek and is being touted to be one of the busiest intersections in the area. The shop is a stone’s throw from the freeway and will soon have great access from any direction. The great thing with this location is you get to avoid all the grim Cape Town traffic during the day and chill out in the winelands. While we were there, we shot through to Franschhoek for a couple of pics and a cuppa coffee.
The new dealership is multi-level with good separation for the OEM brands from the other offerings RAD will have for customers. Soon there will be a well stocked pre-owned motorcycle department in the “fish tank” with a great coffee bar with an outside entertainment area overlooking the winelands where MotoGP and watch parties will be hosted for clients.
The next level down is the workshop and fitment area with separate bays for electronics, suspension, engine work and general fitment. It is huge and well equipped with all the latest and most up to date equipment and qualified technicians, and it’s already busy as heck.
Right on top, front and centre is the KTM and Husqvarna showroom. When we visited they had only been in the new premises for a day or three and were still frantically busy with shop fittings and signage, but it’s all really looking really good already with a bunch of customers flowing through the shop.
2 New Eskdale Str, Paarl South
Rivonia:
The new shop in Rivonia is so well located in the Rivonia Crossing centre. That venue is now a real motorcycle destination and hosts two motorcycle accessory stores, Bike Kings and Motomate, a Vespa dealership and the impressive Bikeshop Rivonia.
They are still busy with signage and all sorts, but the shop is open and fully operational with the same friendly faces we’ve all come to know, flat out making things happen.
Just like the CT store, the team were still frantically busy with signage, lighting and all sorts – but we did sit and have a chat and we’ll tell you for free that it’s going to be pretty spectacular when it’s all sorted.
The workshop is out back and there are lots of bikes lining up for some love. Parts, accessories, new and used motorcycles, it’s a proper Orange destination store for sure! At the rate things are going, it will all be done pretty soon and we’ll bring you a feature on the completed shop.
You’ll find the new store, just 5 minutes from the old premises at Shop 9, Rivonia Crossing shopping centre in Paulshof.
