Northern Regional Motocross Championship Round 1.

Terra Topia hosted Round 1 of the NRMX Championship where people from all walks of life enjoyed some good old racing action. Unfortunately the day’s racing was cut short due to rainy weather.

MX3, MX3 Vets & MX Senior Support.

Senior Support.

Heat 1.

The more seasoned riders were out first to take on the difficult track conditions. #56 Jason Venter on his GASGAS had a good run and took 1st place, #38 Terrence Bonsignore took 2nd place and #21 Riccardo Caforio followed in 3rd.

Heat 2.

Another good run from Venter had him cross the line for the double win, Bonsignore claimed 2nd again with #16 Chae Rouillon placed 3rd.

MX3 & MX3 Vets.

Heat 1.

A good start from #73 Brandon Wheeler had him take up an early lead and he kept on the gas and took the race with the win, #34 Greg Gildenhuys took 2nd place and #143 Chad Tyler came through in 3rd.

Heat 2.

Wheeler repeated his Heat 1 performance and took 1st place again, leading from flag to flag, #211 Dylan Jacobsen followed in 2nd and Tyler took another 3rd.

MX125cc & MX125cc B. Combined.

Heat 1.

#1 KTM Rider, Trey Cox had a tough time with #300 Trent Valsecchi on his GASGAS as they made their way across the finish line. Cox grabbed the win with Valsecchi not far behind in 2nd, #169 Thor Johnson finished in 3rd place.

Heat 2.

In this heat Cox had had an easier time of it as he stormed across the line and took 1st place, Johnson came through in 2nd with #280 Kabelo Ledwaba taking 3rd.

MX85cc & MX85cc B. Combined.

Heat 1.

On his A-game on the muddy track #234 Cassie van Zyl kept his cool as he placed 1st, #11 Kabelo Ledwaba crossed in 2nd and #28 Evan Frost finished in 3rd.

There was no Heat 2.

MX Ladies.

Heat 1.

All the ladies storming the track made for some good racing. #32 Ivana Venter pulled out all the stops to take the checkered flag, #349 Mackenzie Bam followed in 2nd place and #16 Kelly Beegte took 3rd.

Heat 2.

Bam was chasing Venter throughout the race but just could not catch up. Venter grabbed the double win with Bam securing 2nd and #128 Zoe Botha took 3rd place.

MX 1 & MX 1 B. Combined.

Heat 1.

The gates dropped and the top class of the day swung into action. #151 Dalton Venter put in a brilliant effort and took the win with #24 Mark James Carty claiming 2nd with #337 Slade Smith taking 3rd place.

Heat 2.

With a lot of bikes missing from the field, including Heat 1 winner Venter, it was anybody’s race. Smith claimed the win, #89 Maddy Mallan placed 2nd and Carty finished in 3rd place.

MX50cc & MX50cc B. Combined.

Heat 1.

#30 Brayden Tucker managed to keep his competitors behind him off the line and rode flat out for the win, #6 Milan Roux finished in 2nd place and following in 3rd was #88 Reestin Bartlett.

There was no Heat 2.

MX65cc & MX65cc B. Combined.

Heat 1.

A good start saw #345 Rayden Woolls take an early lead. Woolls pushed hard and crossed the line claiming 1st place, #404 Rhys Carl Wentzel took 2nd and not to far behind #40 Hendrico Barwise followed in 3rd.

Heat 2.

With the first heat win in his pocket Woolls made sure to keep a good race line that took him over the line for his second win. Wentzel placed 2nd again with Barwise in another 3rd place.

MX2 & MX2B. Combined.

Heat 1.

With his throttle fully open as the gates dropped #450 Luke Grundy the KTM Rider kept it pinned. He had a great run as he took 1st place, #24 Mark James Carty followed through with 2nd followed be #34 Trey Cox in 3rd.

There was no Heat 2.

With the very wet and muddy Round 1 behind us, we look forward to seeing you at the next Round on the 5th of April at Legends. This race will be combined with the National MX Championship.
