Motocross Madness: Mayfair Gearbox Inland MX. Round 7 Dirt Bronco.

The guys and girls made their way to Dirt Bronco for Round 7 of the Mayfair Gearbox Inland MX Series. With over 150 entries for the day things were going to get real exciting. The fans rocked up in the mood for some great motocross action and that’s what they got. The Dirt Bronco team had the track well prepared for the days racing and stood by to keep it that way.

MX1

Up first we had the MX1 out for their practice session. As they took to the track they went out in full force from the beginning. At the end it was #52 Ricky Raaff on the KTM that had the fastest lap time of 1:47.936 with #24 Mark James Carty only 0.819 off the pace. #411 Joshua Mlimi was third fastest and was followed by #135 Dean Wheeler, #184 Justin Cope, #746 Adriano Catalano on his YAMAHA 0.180 off Cope’s pace, #19 Alastair Drennan and #243 Constandinos Tsavalos.

Heat 1. Was intense as some epic racing saw the HUSQVARNA rider #411 Mlimi took the checkered flag first, #52 Raaff 2nd and #24 Carty followed in 3rd. in 4th we had #135 Wheeler, #746 Catalano 5th, #777 Hunt 6th, #19 Drennan 7th, #243 Tsavalos 8th and #184 Cope in 8th.

Heat 2.  #411 Mlimi was again too much for the rest of the riders as he took his second win, #24 Carty came in 2nd and #52 Raff with 3rd. #777 Hust 4th, #746 Catalano 5th, #184 Cope 6th, #19 Drennan 7th and #243 Tsavalos in 8th.

Inland Motocross

MX3 MASTERS/GRAND MASTERS

The Masters & Grand Masters head out next for practice and in the Masters class it was the GAS GAS rider #187 Ty Taylor who set the best time of 2:07.698, #37 Craig Maynier second and #80 Wynand Beleveldt third followed by #34 Andre Joubert, #20 Andrew Beeston and #81 Welsey Taylor. In the Grand masters class KTM rider #19 Darrell Lehman set the fastest time of 2:06.867 with #7 Gary Killian with only 0.794 off pace and #159 Adrian Maguire 1.633 behind Killian and followed by #63 Robert Spear, #51 Quentin Foster, # 13 Michael Magondo and #61 Alex Robinson

Heat 1. Masters – the GAS GAS rider 3 Taylor kept his pace to finish 1st, #37 Maynier 2nd and #80 Bieleveldt in 3rd place. #34 Joubert 4th, #20 Beeston 5th and #81 Taylor 6th

Grand Masters – #7 Killian had a strong pace as he eased his way to 1st place, #4 David de Witt battled hard to just clinch 2nd by 0.312sec and #19 Lehman taking 3rd. #159 Maguire 4th, #63 Spear 5th, #13 Magondo 6th, #61 Robinson 7th and #51 Foster 8th.

Heat 2. Masters – #187 Taylor was too much for the others as he took his second win for the day, #80 Byleveldt kept consistent and took 2nd again and same with #34 Joubert with 3rd. #20 Beeston 4th and #37 Maynier 5th.

Grand masters – Easing into another win for the day was #7 Killian, #4 de Witt 2nd and #19 Lehman 3rd. #159 Maguire 4th, #61 Robinson 5th, #51 Foster 6th, #13 Magondo 7th and #63 Spear 8th.

MX4 LADIES

#32 Ivana Venter set a blistering pace to finish top in practice with a time of 2:04.160 eight seconds faster than her closest rival #110 Emily Pienaar with second fastest and #16 Kelly Beegte in third she was followed by #23 Kayla Williams, #210 Kelby Lacante, #127 Tasmin Kluge, #444 Monya du Toit and #99 Michelle Kinnear.

Heat 1. #32 Venter on her HUSQVARNA machine left everyone in the dust as she comfortably took 1st, #16 Beegde came in 2nd and #23 Williams with 3rd. #210 Lacante was next in 4th, #127 Kluge 5th, #110 Pienaar 6th and #99 Kinnear with the 7th spot.

Heat 2. The Unstoppable #32 Venter was just that as she took another 1st place, this time it was #110 Pienaar crossing the line in 2nd and #16 Beegte in 3rd. #210 Lacante crossed in 4th, #99 Kinnear 5th, #127 Kluge 6th and in &th place we had #23 Williams.

MX2 & MX3 VETS

In MX2 practice we had the same top two riders #52 Ricky Raaff top and #24 Mark James Carty this time with only a 0.485 difference and #23 Joshua Williams third best time followed by #184 Justin Cope, #198 Adam Bac, #19 Alastair Drennan, #21 Emmanuel Bako, #7771 Ryan Hunt and #228 Louis Mostert. MX3 Vets we had #135 Dean Wheeler fastest with his time of 1;49.589, #10 Ian Topliss and #73 Brandon Wheeler as our top three. #100 Sean Strunkheide, #15 Jonathan du Plooy, #11 Sarel Prinsloo and #192 Jarred Eve.

Heat 1. MX2 – KTM rider #24 Carty with a great run put him over the line in 1st place, #23 Williams took 2nd and #7771 Hunt in 3rd. #52 Raff walked away with 4th, #198 Bac 5th, #19 Drennan 6th, #21A Osner 7th, #21 Bako 8th and #184 Cope 9th.

MX3 Vets – #135 Dean Wheeler had a pace that the other vets just could not keep up to and took an easy win, #10 Topliss with a great 2nd spot and #73 Brandon Wheeler taking 3rd. it was then #11 Prinsloo in 4th, #15 du Plooy 5th, #100 Strunkheide 6th and #192 Eve with 7th.

Heat 2. MX2 – #52 Raaff with not the greatest Heat 1 came back with vengeance as he powered his way to take the win, #24 Carty walked away with 2nd place and #23 Williams in 3rd. #7771 Hunt managed a 4th place, #198 Bac 5th, # 184 Cope 6th, #19 Drennan 7th and it was #21A in 8th.

MX3 Vets – once again it was #135 Dean Wheeler who was just to fast to be caught as he cruised to his second victory for the day and same results as #10 Topliss again in 2nd and #73 Brandon Wheeler with another 3rd place. #11 Prinsloo had to fight for his 4th spot as #100 Strunheide followed in 5th with just 0.985sec they were followed by #15 du Plooy in 6th and #192 eve 7th.

65cc

These kids rode their practice with no fear as they tackled the track head on. We had a HUSQVARNA and a GAS GAS rider giving all they got to end top in practice with the HUSQVARNA rider taking the top spot #345 Rayden Woolls with just 0.736 faster then #85 Ross Mackenzie and #777 Branden van Wyk third the got followed by #404 Rhys Wentzel, #312a Qhamani Thu, #66 Mikah Hendrickse, #78 Keagan Crawford, #19 Tommy Wotherspoon, #63 Troy Wentzel, #211 Liam Jordaan, #313 Matlhatsi Seleke, #11 Richard Smith, #218 Joshua Cameron, 3166 AJ Pretorius and #54 Alvaro Zwiegelaar.

Heat 1. In the first race it was the GAS GAS rider #85 Mackenzie who rode very well to roar over the finish line 1st, then it was #345 Woolls 2nd and #777 van Wyk crossing in 3rd. the rest of the pack were #404 Wentzel 4th, #312a Thu 5th, #78 Crawford 6th, #19 Wotherspoon 7th, #66 Hendricks 8th, #313 Seleke 9th, #218 Cameron 10th, #63 Wentzel 11th, #166 Pretorius 12th, #11 Smith 13th, #25 Visage 14th, #54 Zwiegelaar 15th and #211 Jordaan 16th.

Heat 2. #85 Mackenzie was just to much for Woolls as Mackenzie took a second win for the day, #345 Woolls with 2nd again and #777 van Wyk 3rd. This time it was #312a Thu in 4th, #404 Wentzel 5th, #66 Hendricks 6th, #19 Wotherspoon 7th, #78 Crawford 8th, #11 Smith 9th, #218 Cameron 10th, #313 Seleke 11th, #166 Pretorius 12th, #54 Zwiegelaar 13th and #63 Wentzel 14th.

MX SUPPORT     

The Support class came out in their numbers! Fourteen riders crossing the line with less than a second apart from one another throughout the pack.

Fastest of the lot was #502 Brandon-Lee Smith on his YAMAHA with a time of 2:01.496 and close behind with only 0.239 is #23 Dylan da Silva, #232 Ryan Lemmer crossing third. #109 Roland Kritzinger with forth and was followed by #14 Steve Schwartz, #295 Anru Mostert, #72a Raymond Language, #89 Cameron Dalrymple-Kelly, #27 James Williams, #111 Ethan van Rensburg, #22 Peet Prinsloo, #29 Ryan Strydom, #38 Terrence Bonsignore, #79 Cameron van den Heever, #321 Jordann de Lange, #116 Wian Landman, #16 Chae Rouillon, #152 Theo Barwise, #88 Terrence Kinnear, #219 Alaxandros Tsavalos, #61 Alex Robinson, #13 Michael Magondo and #161 Matthew Bronkhorst.

Heat 1. When it came to the racing #502 Smith was on fire as he got to the checkered flag well ahead in first, #232 Lemmer took 2nd and #72a Language with a 3rd place. The rest of the pack crossed in this order #111 van Rensburg 4th, #89 Dalrymple-Kelly 5th, #22 Prinsloo 6th, #27 Williams 7th, #58 Peeters 8th, #109 Kritzinger 9th, #14 Schwartz 10th, #29 Strydom 11th, #295 Mostert 12th, #38 Bosignore 13th, #152 Barwise 14th, #79 van den Heever 15th, #88 Kinnear 16th, #116 Landman 17th, #219 Tsavalos 18th, #61 Robinson 19th, #16 Rouillon 20th, #23 Da Silva 21st and #13 Magondo 22nd.

Heat2. #502 Smith dominated once again secured his second win for the day, a close call saw #29 Strydom cross the line in 2nd with only 0.465 ahead of #109 Kritzinger in 3rd. Couple of battles throughout the pack left for very interesting racing with #89 Dalrymple-Kelly 4th, #38 Bonsignore 5th, #14 Schwartz 6th, #22 Prinsloo 7th, #72a Language 8th, #16 Rouillon 9th, #58 Peeters 10th, #79 van den Heever 11th, #27 Williams 12th, #116 Landman 13th, #295 Mostert 14th, #232 Lemmer 15th, #219 Tsavalos 16th, #88 Kinnear 17th, #111 van Rensburg 18th, #61 Robinson 19th, #152 Barwise 20th and #23 Da Silva 21st.

85cc JNR/PRO

In the 85cc JNR class practice it was #15 Dylan Bezuidenhout that pushed his KTM fastest over the line with a time of 2:06.130, #711 Keagan Burns was second and #312 Xander van der Watt third followed by #65 Tristin Pieters, #50 Byron Bradbury, #27 Juandre Abdul and #10 Janko Britz. The 85cc PRO class yet again with very close times had #7 Ashton Martin fastest with 1:53.776 then #418 Cruz Martin second and #100 Greef van Wyk third they were followed by #38 Ethan Louw, #96 Keno Pereira, #99 Ashton Owen, #555 Maxwell Fourie, #118 Troy Berry, #155 Tshimollo Mazibuko, #56 Jason Venter, #77 Ricardo Zwiegelaar, #88 Matthew Pienaar, #303 Damyon Taljaard, #7a Kevin Mogorosi and #103 Jordan Ramsden.

Heat 1. #15 Bezuidenhout had an incredible run to secure the first race win, #711 Burns managed a 2nd and #312 van der Watt in 3rd. #65 Pieterse 4th, #50 Bradbury 5th, #10 Britz 6th and #27 Abdul crossing in 7th.

Keeping up with his practice result #7 Martin finished 1st with #418 Martin in 2nd and #100 van Wyk in 3rd. #99 Owen walking away with 4th followed by #96 Pereira 5th, #555 Fourie 6th, #38 Louw 7th, #155 Mazibuko 8th, #118 Berry 9th, #56 Venter 10th, #103 Ramsden 11th, #303 Taljaard 12th, #88 Pienaar 13th and #77 Zwiegelaar 14th.

Heat 2. #15 Bezuidenhout did it again as he too both race wins, #711 Burns with 2nd again and #312 van der Watt 3rd. #65 Pieters 4th, #50 Bradbury 5th and #10 Britz 6th.

Once again the Martin’s dominance was to much as #7 Martin eased over the line for a second win followed by #418 Martin in 2nd place. #100 van Wyk kept consistent taking 3rd in both races then #38 Louw in 4th, #99 Owen 5th, #555 Fourie 6th, #96 Pereira 7th, #155 Mazibuko 8th, #118 Berry 9th, #56 Venter 10th, #77 Zwiegelaar 11th, #103 Ramsden 12th and #303 Taljaard 13th.

50cc JNR/SNR

The Junior class practice saw the top three riders times only differ by 0.631sec it was #6 Millan Roux, #88 Cooper Jackson and then #212 Axell Sutherland. After them followed #118 Mason Vrey, #10 Nathan De Lange, #17 Hanro Jacobs, #30 Brayden Tucker, #116 Jadyson Joao and #18 Garry Hamer.

The Senior class had #70 Liam Grobler 0.599sec faster then #44 Richard Smith. #25 Nathan Visagie third then came #117 Try Dean, #141 Alessandro Green, #22 Hanru Du Plessis, #275 Aiden Pretorius and #89 Conrad van Niekerk.

Heat 1. The little HUSQVARNA piloted by #88 Jackson stole the show by winning the first race #6 Roux took 2nd and #212 Sutherland with the 3rd spot. #10 De Lange 4th, #30 Tucker 5th, #116 Joao 6th, #17 Jacobs 7th and #18 Hamer 8th.

#44 Smith crossed the line for the win with #70 Grobler breathing down his neck with only 0.475 #25 Visagie took 3rd followed shortly by #22 Du Plessis in 4th, #117 Dean 5th, #275 Pretorius 6th, #89 van Niekerk 7th, #141 Green 8th and #118 Vrey 9th.

Heat 2. It was safe to say that #88 Jackson was the better rider for the day taking another 1st place #6 Roux with his second 2nd and #212 Sutherland crossing again in 3rd. #116 Joao 4th, #10 De Lange 5th, #17 Jacobs 6th, #30 Tucker 7th and #18 Hamer 8th.

#25 Visagie with a good race came to take 1st #22 Du Plessis in 2nd place & it was #70 Grobler who crossed in 3rd. #44 Smith 4th, #117 Dean 5th, #275 Pretorius 6th, #141 Green 7th, #89 van Niekerk 8th and #118 Vrey in 9th place.

 

125cc HIGH/SNR

The 125cc High class had some spectacular riding as the riders toughed it out in practice. #21 Emmanuel Bako with a great time of 1:50.681 took top spot #228 Louis Mostert got second and #210 Blake Osner with third the pack after them was #114 Damien Venter, #777 Asher Brown, #28 Neo Sanders, #133 Kassim Hassim, #446 Shaigon Bister, #26 Milton Akaki, #13 Thomas Spear, #56 Jason Venter, #321 Jordann De Lange, #771 Matthew Fernandes, #777a Reece Hunt, #841 Jayde Coetzer, #293 Joshua Leviton, #117 Adriaan De Lange, #71 Joshua Needham, #373 Dylan Tozer and #31 Liam Scholtz.

The Seniors had a two-horse race in practice with #198 Adam Bac faster with a time of 1:52.254 then it was #100 Sean Strunkheide.

Heat 1. 125cc High KTM rider #21 Bako flew through the course to take a very well deserved 1st heat win #114 Venter had his hands full but crossed the line in 2nd 0.469 ahead of #210 Osner in 3rd. #228 Mostert 4th, #28 Sanders 5th, #133 Hassim 6th, #26 Akaki 7th, #777 Brown 8th, #446 Bister 9th, #56 Venter 10th, #13 Spear 11th, #771 Fernandes 12th, #777a Hunt 13th, #841 Coetzer 14th, #71 Needham 15th, #293 Leviton 16th, #117 De Lange 17th, #31 Scholtz 18th and #373 Tozer 19th.  

#198 Bac on his YAMAHA took 1st place as #100 Strunkheide on his KTM in 2nd.

Heat 2. The unstoppable #88 Bako did it again as he powered his way to an easy 1st place taking both wins for the day. It was #114 Venter clinched 2nd and 326 Akaki with the 3rd spot. The rest of the riders positions were #210 Osner 4th, #777 Brown 5th, #228 Mostert 6th, #133 Hassim 7th, #28 Sanders 8th, # 13 Spear 9th, #446 Bister 10th, #777a Hunt 11th, #56 Venter 12th, #771 Fernandes 13th, #293 Leviton 14th, #841 Coetzer 15th, #71 Needham 16th, #117 De Lange 17th, #373 Tozer 18th and #31 Scholtz 19th.

It was two for two as #198 Bac took a second 1st place for the day and #100 Strunkheide crossing the line in 2nd.

With some thrills and spills riders and fans had an absolutely epic day of racing and I for one cannot wait for all the Motocross action to come in Round 8. I will see all you guys and girls at the next race.
