Mayfair Gearbox Inland MX Championship. Round 5.

Pics by Sean Versveld. Cloud 9.

The 27th of May saw a horde of 140 MX racers descend on the Legends MX track out near Rayton. It’s a new venue on the Inland calendar and the riders seemed pretty happy with the venue.

Saturday was one of the first chilly days of the year and there were a few puddles thanks to the late rains.

Practice got underway at 8am with the MX1 and MX2 guys heading out first to create lines.

Heat 1 got off to a good start with the 50cc riders taking on a shortened version of the senior track.

The ladies class was pretty exciting with Megan Jonker taking top honours after a great battle. Teammate Ivana Venter was hot on her heels.

The 125cc Highschool and senior classes saw some of the most exciting racing on the day, with Kamakazi pilots banging bars from start to finish.

The big dogs in MX1 and MX2 closed the day off with some entertaining skills.
