Acerbis Swingarm Guard

Long Term Test: Acerbis Teketmagnet Swingarm Protectors

The Acerbis Teketmagnet Swingarm Protector.

“But that magnet will never hold, the rubber will never last – boet you are going to lose those things in the veld…”

Those were the objections when we bought the Tekmagnet system from Acerbis for our long suffering Gas Gas 350. We fitted them more than a year ago, promptly forgot about them and guess what?

They are still in place and are doing a great job at doing what they are meant to do…

We also hear the argument that swingarm protectors left on for a long time eventually collect dirt that rubs on the swingarm leaving deeper marks – and that’s also true – however – the Acerbis Tekmagnet system is designed to slip off and back on for cleaning in a hurry when you wash your bike, so there’s no need to leave them in place.

Watch the vid:

So don’t stuff your swingarm up. Avoid unsightly scratches and dings, especially if you are a rock hopper.

Acerbis’ solution to have a rubber mounted quick-release rear, with a magnetic front mount to keep things secure, but allow for easy removal for cleaning is pretty convenient. Impressive!

It all clips in and is held in place with a magnet.

The washer is actually a strong magnet.

A rubber clasp secures the whole unit.

Some Features:

  • High-strength plastic swingarm protection
  • Attaches with magnets and high-strength rubber wraps for simple removal in a few seconds
  • Protects the swingarm from roost, rocks, ruts, stumps, etc
  • Quick and easy re-installation after service or cleaning

If you don’t care about big gouges in your swing arm then sure, a waste of money, but think about resale time. If your bike looks like it fell down a mountain multiple times, it tends to impact resale value.

At your dealer and available for all sorts of models…
