Dirt Bronco hosted the Final Round of the Inland Series, on Saturday 18th of November 2023
By Deon VDL.
It’s that time of the year where the sane people start to unpack their Christmas decorations and all that jingle type of stuff. November just woke up and already the Christmas cheer starts to spread. All of this means nothing to the select few who’s only thought is racing.
We gathered together one last time for the Inland MX Championship’s Final round. It was good to see smiles and laughter as we strolled through the busy pit area at Dirt Bronco. Awesome to see how many people will stay loyal to a series all the way to the end.
What an ending it was! Blood, sweat, tears and celebration all in the final Round for 2023. Close calls and impressive riding made for a grand exit.

50cc JNR.
It is the little things we will miss the most. Talking about the little we saw the 50cc JNR class out first. #17 Hanro Jacobs had a solid practice run at a time of 10 sec above the pace. It was one of those days that planning does not foresee circumstances. #6 Millan Roux won Race 1 by over a minute. Jacobs had a much better Race 2 as he crossed the line 0.22 sec behind Roux. MX 4 Ladies.
If the practice times followed throughout the day, there would have been no spectators seated with a small difference of 0.501sec. That was definitely not the case.
One lady went out and stole the whole show, Ivana Venter she topped practice like I said only just. But, when the gate dropped on Race 1 Venter was gone and never seen again, winning by over 1.1min.
The only change in Race 2 happened behind her as the battle for 2nd and 3rd got intense it was #110 Emily Pienaar who came third in Race 1 behind #16 Kelly Beegte, Race 2 Pienaar beat Beegte over the line with only 0.183sec. MX1.
Like any great event planners, it is very important to leave the best for last and the Inland Event does just that. I am telling you, if you have not seen the MX1 class in action you should really make a plan to witness a great final Race.
#243 Contandinos Tsavalos managed a 3sec gap in practice followed by #184 Justin Cope and #337 Slade Smith only 0.909sec apart from each other. Smith was not going to let anybody steal his racing thunder as he was victorious in Race 1 by 26sec. Then his thunder roared even loader in Race 2 cracking past the finish line like lightning this time with a 38sec gap.
Top three: #337 Slade Williams 1st, #135 Dean Wheeler 2nd and #42 Marco De Vrye 3rd.
