Inland MX Racing:

Round 2 Dragon Energy Interprovincial NIMXC

17 June 2023

Teza. Always prime.

Leon Van Eden and his team at Teza spent 5 days preparing the track in the run up to race weekend and it was in awesome shape as teams arrived on Friday to set up.

The track was alive with excitement, with the vendors doing a roaring trade already.

Saturday dawned and by 6am. The riders were already getting ready to try out the famous track in KZN, some for the very first time.

7 bells saw riders briefing. Riders and teams are briefed on the flags, programme for the day and the rules that go along with safe racing.

With an early sunset at this time of the year, and early shadows on the track, racing started early. 7h30 saw the first bikes hitting the track.

Racing commenced at 10am with the 50’s. racing a shorter lap inside the big track.

The big track then saw the MX1 class and vets setting the racing lines.

They were followed by the rest.

Some sections of the tracks separated the men from the boys , specifically the whoop section. It was awesome to watch the faster riders skim over the top, while most just rode them one at a time…

The 2nd heat followed after lunch on a freshly watered track.

By 3h30, the racing was done and the shadows were were already clouding some of the jumps.

It was a great prizegiving in the beer tent and bench racing and tall stories continued around the bonfires late into the night.

Big thanks to the hosts, Leon, Liezel and the team for a magic day of racing.
