It is always a great day in our books when a new motorcycle dealership opens its doors for business. We were invited along to the opening of Ultimate Yamaha in Centurion, in the same premises as KTM Centurion.
It really is cool to see Yamaha growing their dealer footprint, and increasing their reach in SA. We arrived to a carnival atmosphere of waving flags, bright gazebo’s, music, milling crowds of people and just general motorcycle happiness. Motul made a big splash out front with Bikewise attracting lots of interest. People were everywhere, we eventually managed to get into the new showroom, and have a bit of a walk around. Yeah, there was the usual offering of current models, but if you look really closely at some of the pics you might notice a new model hidden in plain sight, that we aren’t really supposed to tell you about quite yet – so if you didn’t see it, keep an eye on both our websites – all will be revealed in due time.
Long time friends and business partners,Thomas and Vasco rounded up the crowds for the ribbon cutting and champagne popping to toast the official opening. It was a lekker afternoon with dignitaries mingling with customers, media, influencers and whoever else happened to wander in, attracted by the festive atmosphere.
Ultimate Yamaha has a good selection of brand new Yammies on the floor already and, they say a well stocked OEM parts department. Vasco runs a slick workshop and there’s a great selection of accessories on the floor.
Now all the Yamaha faithful behind the Boerewors curtain don’t have venture out into the wilds of Johannesburg or Pretoria any longer for parts, service and new machines.
Just head down to Centurion Gate, which is suddenly becoming quite the hub for motorcycles with most motorcycle brands very well represented within metres of each other and plenty of good parking all around the buildings.
Another bonus is there is a fuel station, a gym, a bunch of really good restaurants and lots of other fun things to keep you busy while you wait for your bike to be serviced and sorted.
