Sherco Enters ADV Market

At Eicma, Sherco released the Sahara 450. Despite being Dakar regulars, this is the brands first foray into the adventure market. Donovan Fourie has a look.

At the EICMA Show 2026, Sherco unveiled a 450cc adventure bike called the Sahara. Very few details have been released so far, and the reveal was more visual and conceptual, with more information to be announced “in the coming weeks”.

What we do know for now is that it houses a liquid-cooled parallel-twin 450, with power delivery described as “exciting and playful”. Rumours suggest between 47 and 48 hp, but nothing has yet been officially confirmed.

The Sahara 450 will be Sherco’s first twin-cylinder motorcycle, and also the brand’s first step into the adventure market. The blue company does have some relevant experience, though, having established itself as a Dakar regular.

The looks are very rally-esque, with a tall screen, narrow body, an upswept exhaust, long-travel suspension and a 21-inch front wheel. Beyond that, it has been described as lightweight and feature-rich, which would suggest the inclusion of various electronic aids and rider technology.

Sherco has done well in the world of enduro and other dirt-bike disciplines, and the adventure segment seems a natural next step in its expansion. We will have to wait a few weeks for more information.
