The latest Honda Africa Twin features a 1,131 cc parallel-twin, up from the previous 1,084 cc, that produces 119 hp and a rounded 119 Nm of torque — a decent upgrade from the previous 102 hp and 112 Nm of torque.
The frame is a steel semi-double cradle unit with an aluminium swingarm that is 1.4 kg lighter than the previous arrangement, although the total weight of the motorcycle is up six kilograms to 237 kg.
The front Showa suspension increases from 45 to 49 mm and features Skyhook as standard.
The instruments are brand-new dual touchscreens, with rider modes expanded from four to six, including a new Off-Road+ mode.
There will be three variations of the standard model:
The Adventure Sports is designed for long-distance riding, with fuel capacity increased from 18.8 L to 24.2 L and the front wheel reduced from the standard 21-inch to the more road-oriented 19-inch.
Adventure Sports Sensing Ride is the same as the standard Adventure Sports model but with front and rear radar systems, adaptive cruise control, collision warnings and blind-spot detection. This model is available only as a DCT option.
The new Enduro Sports version is mostly the same as the Standard version but more off-road focused, with mechanically fully-adjustable Showa forks with 240 mm of travel and a shock with 230 mm of travel. With raised suspension, ground clearance increases to 260 mm from the standard 240 mm. The weight is lower at 228 kg for the manual version.
