The 2026 MXGP season has wrapped up in spectacular fashion at Hidden Valley in Darwin, with bright sunshine, tough racing and two World Champions crowned.
The biggest moment of the day came in MX2, where Guillem Farres secured his first World Championship title for Triumph Factory Racing. After a strong first race, he had done enough to seal the championship, giving Triumph an historic 1-2 in the final standings with teammate Camden Mc Lellan finishing runner-up.
Seeing his good friend and teammate become World Champion was only part of the story for Mc Lellan, as he took back-to-back GP wins for the first time in his career, and his fifth in total for the Triumph Racing Factory Team. He also secured second in the World Championship, making it an historic 1-2 for the British manufacturer!

In MXGP, Jeffrey Herlings ended his championship-winning season in perfect fashion with two race victories. The 1-1 result gave him his 125th GP victory and capped an incredible sixth World Championship title. Romain Febvre finished second overall, while Tom Vialle completed the podium.

It’s been a stellar season for Honda and “The Bullet”, and he looks forward to the challenge of defending the title next year! Recent GPs have shown that Vialle, De Wolf, Gajser, and Febvre will still be threats next year, as will the new MX2 World Champion as he moves up to the premiere class!
Second on the day was the outgoing World Champion Romain Febvre, taking second in both races after having to move forward on each occasion in his final GP for Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP.
Tom Vialle sealed the Fox Holeshot Award for the season on his way to third overall, his fifth straight podium for Honda HRC Petronas which sealed fourth in the Championship, the top MXGP class rookie for the year.
Calvin Vlaanderen bids farewell to Ducati with a 6th-place finish at the Australian Grand Prix
SA’s Calvin Vlaanderin’s championship campaign—during which he was forced to miss two races due to injury—concluded with an 11th-place overall in the standings. It was a season defined by consistent effort, yielding two fourth-place overall finishes (in South Africa and China) alongside numerous top-ten results.
What a season it’s been! We are looking forward to 2027!
