By now, the new BMW F450 GS has made its debut at dealership across SA. We were invited to attend the Launch of the new bike at BMW Motorrad Montana in Montana Tuine , Pretoria.
Upon arrival, faces were friendly and the vibe was exciting.
Riaan and his Team did not fail to impress. The three variants of the GS450 were parked nice and neatly on tthe showroom floor.
Then the moment finally arrives where the black Motorrad cover was pulled off to reveal the new bikes beneath. Smoke, Neon Lights and camera flashes reverberated all round.
At the heart of this new Adventure Bike sits a 420cc Liquid Cooled Parallel Twin Engine, knocking out 35 kW @ 8750 rpm.
We learned that the GS450 comes in 3 variants Standard, Sport and then, the Trophy Edition. The bikes feature fully adjustable Suspension as well as BMW’s new “EasyRide Clutch” system on the Trophy Edition.
Starting price is around R121 800.00 and tere is a catalogue of extras available for each model.
We hoped to be able to do a ride one, but sadly all of the models on the floor had already been pre sold and the demo model was sold on the day of the Launch.
