2027 KTM Motocross Range

The 2027 motocross line-up from KTM builds on the current generation platform, with a continued focus on lightweight construction, updated chassis design, and a full spread of two-stroke and four-stroke models.

Rather than a complete overhaul, this range centres on refinement and consistency across the board, something that matters when it comes to setup, parts compatibility, and race preparation.

The Line-Up.

KTM continues to offer one of the most complete motocross ranges available, covering all major classes.

2-Stroke Models:

  • 50 SX
  • 65 SX
  • 85 SX (17/14 & 19/16)
  • 125 SX
  • 250 SX
  • 300 SX

4-Stroke Models:

250 SX-F

350 SX-F

This keeps the progression clear, from junior development through to competitive racing, while maintaining KTM’s strong presence across both engine types.

Engine Platform.

The range continues with KTM’s established engine configurations.

The two-stroke models retain their simple, lightweight design, which remains a key factor for riders focused on ease of maintenance and lower running complexity. The 300 SX remains part of the motocross line-up, offering a larger-capacity two-stroke option.

The four-stroke SX-F models continue with DOHC engine architecture and electronic fuel injection across the 250 and 350 platforms.

Chassis & Frame.

All models are built around KTM’s steel frame platform, designed to balance rigidity and flex characteristics for motocross use.

The 2027 range continues with:

  • Updated frame design from the current generation
  • Bolt-on subframe construction
  • Revised bodywork and tank layout

These updates focus on accessibility for maintenance and improved rider movement.

Suspension.

WP suspension remains standard across the range.

This includes:

  • WP XACT upside-down forks
  • WP rear shock with preload and damping adjustability

The setup allows for rider-specific tuning based on track conditions, rider weight, and experience level.

Wheels & Brakes.

Across the 2027 motocross range, KTM continues with lightweight wheel and braking components designed around racing conditions and straightforward maintenance. The small bikes get Formula brakes while the bigger capacity machines boast units by Brembo.

The larger-capacity models run the traditional 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheel combination, while the junior bikes retain smaller wheel setups suited to their respective classes. Black alloy rims and lightweight hubs remain part of the package, aimed at reducing unsprung weight and maintaining durability under motocross use.

Braking is handled by hydraulic disc systems front and rear, with the setup focused on consistent stopping performance in changing terrain conditions. Oversized front discs remain standard on the full-size models, paired with lightweight calipers designed to balance braking power with control.

The overall package stays closely aligned with KTM’s established motocross setup philosophy, lightweight, race-focused, and easy to service between race weekends.

Electronics (4-Stroke Models).

On the SX-F range, KTM continues with a modern electronics package, including:

  • Multiple engine maps
  • Traction control
  • Launch control

These systems are aimed at improving consistency, particularly during starts and in changing surface conditions.

What Matters for Riders.

From a rider’s perspective, this range focuses on continuity and usability:

  • Full spread of 2-stroke and 4-stroke options
  • Familiar platform for setup and maintenance
  • Modern suspension and electronics where needed
  • Continued support for two-stroke development

For local racing, that consistency plays a big role, especially when it comes to parts, setup knowledge, and moving between classes.
