EICMA 2025: Some of the bikes that caught our eye…

By all accounts, Eicma was a roaring success with glad tidings that motorcycle development is ongoing. Here are just some of the latest machines that have caught our eye, with more to follow soon.

Whether all of these bikes make it to SA or not in many cases remains to be seen. The show gives a really cool idea of what’s happening in the world of motorcycles. Hey! Theres even one named after The Mother City!

The BMW F450GS is in production…

The 2026 BMW F 450 GS packs a newly developed 420 cc parallel‑twin that delivers a claimed 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque in a lightweight package. LED headlight with “X” DRL, 19″ front/17″ rear wheel combo. Modern tech like lean‑sensitive ABS Pro, a full‑colour 6.5″ TFT display, and optional Easy Ride Clutch.

Four models to choose from:

  • BMW F 450 GS Basic.
  • BMW F 450 GS Exclusive that includes off-road foot pegs, hand guards, an engine guard, Riding Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, and a clear windshield.
  • BMW F 450 GS Sport includes off-road foot pegs, hand guards, engine guard, Riding Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, clear windshield, and sport suspension.
  • The BMW F 450 GS Trophy incudes off-road foot pegs, white hand guards, Riding Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, tinted Rallye windshield, sport suspension, aluminium engine guard, and Easy Ride Clutch.
  • Expected in SA, mid ’26

CFMoto’s new 1000 MT-X

The CFMOTO 1000 MT‑X packs a 946 cc parallel‑twin with 111 hp and 105 Nm into an adventure package. KYB suspension, Brembo brakes, Bosch IMU with five ride modes, quick‑shifter, and full‑colour TFT. A 22.5 L tank ensures long‑range exploration.

Ducati Desert X Concept

The Ducati Desert X Concept channels rally‑raid DNA into a rugged adventure bike. The 937 cc Testastretta engine delivers 110 hp and 92 Nm. That’s paired with long‑travel suspension (230 mm front / 220 mm rear), 21″ front and 18″ rear wheels, and 250 mm ground clearance.

Full electronics, multiple ride modes, and Dakar-inspired design.

Ducati Desmo 450 Enduro.

Ducati’s Desmo 450 Enduro is a 449 cc single-cylinder ttht boasts an impressive 64 hp and 54 Nm.

It features a lightweight aluminium frame, Showa suspension, 310 mm front travel, 18″ rear wheel, rider modes, traction control, skid plate, and hand-guards . Oh and it looks seriously cool too.

The Hero Hunk 440 SX…

We aren’t so sure about the name, butthe Hero Hunk 440 SX is a retro styled bike with a 440 cc single that produces 27 hp and 36 Nm.

It features 18″ front/17″ rear wheels with dual-purpose tyres, upswept twin-port exhaust, split seat, knuckle guards, ride-by-wire throttle, multiple riding modes, and switchable ABS/traction control.

Hero XPulse 210 Dakar Edition:

The famous Hero Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition pairs a 210 cc single that produces 24 hp and 21 Nm with rally‑inspired upgrades:

Long‑travel suspension (280 mm), 270 mm ground clearance, high front beak, knobbly tyres, and Dakar‑styled livery.

Built, they say for both adventure and everyday usability.

The Honda XL 750 Transalp gets updated…

The updated XL 750 Transalp boasts a 755 cc parallel‑twin engine that produces 90 hp and 75 Nm. That’s housed in a steel diamond‑frame with 200 mm front / 190 mm rear suspension travel.

Kawasaki KLE 500: Return of a legend.

The 2026 Kawasaki KLE500 revives a legend with a 451 cc parralel twin, long-travel suspension, and 21″/17″ spoked wheels. Built, says Kawasaki to conquer dirt and tarmac alike, pure, simple adventure riding.

Phelon & Moore unveils Capetown 7X Pininfarina

The Phelon & Moore Capetown 7X by Pininfarina is a limited-edition adventure motorcycle celebrating Italian design and British engineering.

Limited to 595 units, it features wind-tunnel-sculpted bodywork, premium materials, and a bespoke anniversary livery.

“A fusion of performance, craftsmanship, and timeless style, where adventure meets artistry.” And.. it’s called a Cape Town

QJ Motor Rhino 900 Adventure.

The QJ Brand is definitelly making its way to SA and this is one of the bikes that everyones talking about: The Rhino 900.

It packs a 900 cc inline‑triple with 119 hp and 93 Nm. 

It features a 19″ front/17″ rear wheel, two seat-height options (815 mm/830 mm), long-travel suspension, and a full electronics suite with ride modes and traction control. More on this brand in SA soon.

The Royal Enfield Flying Flea S6 electric.

The Royal Enfield Flying Flea S6 is an electric scrambler. It features a 19″ front and 18″ rear wire-spoke wheels, USD front forks, raised fender, and chain drive. A high-torque electric motor powers the bike, with off-road mode, switchable dual-channel ABS, lean-angle sensing, and connected features including a touchscreen cluster and Bluetooth/4G/WiFi.

Designed for both city rides and trail adventures, it’s expected to launch in late 2026.

New Triumph Scrambler 1200XE

The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE features a 1,200 cc parallel‑twin with 90 hp and 110 Nm. It boasts long‑travel Showa front forks, Öhlins rear shocks, Brembo brakes, 21″ front/17″ rear spoked wheels, and six ride modes including Off‑Road Pro. Premium tech includes a full‑colour TFT display, cruise control, cornering ABS and traction control, with optional connectivity features for modern convenience.

Voge SR450X Adventure Scooter. How cool is this?

The VOGE SR450X is a rugged adventure scooter powered by a 398 cc parallel-twin producing around 42 hp and 42 Nm. It rides on 17″/14″ spoked wheels with 180 mm ground clearance and a 795 mm seat height. Packed with tech, dual-channel ABS, traction control, tyre-pressure monitoring, a 7″ TFT display, and twin dash-cams, it blends everyday practicality with some cool adventure styling.

Tenere 700 World Raid

The Ténéré 700 World Raid pairs a 689 cc parallel‑twin (72 hp/68 Nm) with dual side‑mounted 23 L fuel tanks for extended range. Long‑travel KYB suspension, 21″/18″ wheels, rally‑style ergonomics, adjustable windscreen, and a one‑piece seat. Advanced electronics include ride‑by‑wire throttle, lean‑sensitive ABS/traction control, and cruise control. Pretty huh!

Yamaha YE-01 Electric Racing Concept

The Yamaha YE-01 Electric Racing Concept is an electric motocross prototype built on the YZ450F chassis. It features a liquid-cooled motor, race-tuned KYB suspension, and a hydraulic clutch for a traditional MX feel. With power modes, traction control, and optimized battery placement, it blends electric innovation with Yamaha’s motocross DNA.

Backed by automotive giant Mahindra, the new BSA Thunderbolt, unveiled at EICMA 2025, is the British brand’s first adventure bike and will hit the global market in mid-2026. The name recalls the last motorcycle produced in Birmingham in 1972, which was already geared toward touring and off-road riding. At its heart is a 334cc Euro 5+ single-cylinder engine, liquid-cooled, delivering 29.2 hp and 30 Nm of torque.
