A little while back,we told you a little bit about Vermont Sales, how it all started out of the boot of a car. With great brands, unflappable ambition and an unstoppable work ethic, Vermont is now the giant in the South African tool and hardware industry some forty years on. We also told you of their motorcycle connection in the form of multiple national and international MX Champion Ryan Hunt who was barely a teenager when his parents started Vermont Sales.
To celebrate their fortieth year milestone and their phenomenal success, they revived their annual in-house Trade Expo, showcasing their entire product range to their vendor base. The Expo easily rivals anything we have attended in the motorcycle industry, with head office representatives in attendance from all their international suppliers. This created a melting pot of international accents explaining things on the day.
We went along and were blown away by the sheer range of tools and consumables that are available for any workshop in any discipline. We took advantage of the fantastic specials on offer as well as their “Bargain Bin” section – which sparked a furious telephone call from our bookkeeper mere seconds after we swiped the company credit card at the till.
This was Friday the 14th of March 2025 and they kept going until late on Sunday afternoon the 16th of March 2025.
What a fantastic concept…. Here is to the next 40 years.
