Dunlop. A tyre for everywhere…

Dunlop. A tyre for everywhere…

Advertorial:

Back in time. In 1888, John Boyd Dunlop, a Scottish veterinary surgeon living in Ireland discovered the pneumatic tyre principle. Willie Hume created publicity for his discovery by winning seven out of eight cycle races with his pneumatic tyres. The “Pneumatic Tyre and Booth’s Cycle Agency Co. Ltd” was incorporated in 1889 and floated by Harvey du Cros, who was, amongst other things, president of the Irish Cyclists’ Association. That was the beginning of the Dunlop revolution…

MX 34: Motocross. Where traction is everything…

The Geomax MX34 is a versatile MX tyre with a number of innovations that build on its acclaimed predecessor.

With the aim to provide more grip for motocross riders of all levels, from professional racers to amateurs, Geomax MX34 has been designed with race-proven performance and consistency in mind. The new tyre sits in the range between the sand and mud-orientated Geomax MX14 and the intermediate to hardpack-focused Geomax MX53.

Race-proven technology

The Geomax MX34 has been raced by some of the world’s top motocross riders in both the FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) and AMA Supercross Championship.

The new tyre features improved designs on both front and rear. On the front, an optimized block design and updated compound gives enhanced traction and durability compared to its predecessor. Larger spacing between blocks achieves superior mud evacuation.

On the rear tyre, the center blocks have been made 11% higher and 44% wider to deliver more traction. This increased rear grip gives riders greatly improved acceleration and better feel and feedback. Together, the new designs offer improved standing-start grip to help with holeshot potential.

Dunlop AT 82 Arriving Soon: “A Rugged off-road racing tyre developed with decades of experience and by the world’s best racers.”

New front tread pattern design increases grip and predictability under load.

New rear pattern provides increased drive grip and consistency while cornering.

New Progressive Cornering Block Technology (PCBT) design in both front and rear tyres reduces knob deformation for better handling and performance.

Increased damping and bump absorption due to new profile and construction.

New bi-directional rear tread pattern has been optimized for both soft and hard terrains simply by changing the mounted direction.

Updated pattern and knob design provide increased durability.

New 90/100-21 front size and 120/90-19 rear size.

EN 91EX: As used by Hard Enduro Men Cody Webb and Brett Swanepoel:

Dunlop says that this  rear tyre is “designed for both highly skilled enduro riders racing in the most extreme events and weekend enthusiasts seeking improved performance for their enduro rides. A super soft tyre with an unprecedented level of performance, offering enhanced grip, particularly on the most challenging and slippery terrains, as well as superior traction across a wide spectrum of landscapes.”

The tyre has taller blocks that Dunlop says assists riders in “Gaining grip beneath loose terrain.”

The tyre’s shoulder knobs also feature Dunlop’s Progressive Cornering Block technology which they say increases the surface area of the interior block, while additional tread angles enhance grip stability.

Front and rear tyres are equipped with Dunlop’s patented Block-In-A-Block technology to improve knob flex, resulting in more durability.

The Dunlop Geomax EN91 EX is offered as a rear tyre only and is available in a 140/80-18 size. However, Dunlop says that it can be combined with any Geomax 80/100-21 or 90/90-21 front, according to rider preference and terrain condition.

Dunlop tyres are in stock at dealers nationally and are distributed by Henderson Racing Products.
