The new 2026 FE  501 hasn’t been reinvented but rather, refined for ‘26 says Husqvarna.Â
The engine, frame, and swingarm have trimmed weight and improved serviceability. The suspension gets a refresh. Ergonomics remain unchanged and the electronics now extend with OCU and a quickshifter.
Engine
The FE 501 retains the 510.9 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder fourstroke mill, fed via a 42 mm Keihin EFI throttle body and managed by Keihin EMS. It’s paired to a 6 speed gearbox and equipped with an electric starter powered by a 2 Ah Li‑Ion battery. The engine architecture remains light and centralised shaft components are positioned close to the centre of gravity.
Suspension & Wheels
The 2026 model sees subtle suspension refinements:Â
WP XACT Closed Cartridge front forks now sport polished springs, updated pressure reservoirs, one piece hydro stops, and revised damping settings.Â
The WP XACT rear shock also benefits from new damping settings and retains tool free adjusters .
Wheels continue to use spoked rims with CNC‑machined hubs.
Brakes
The FE 501 features Brembo hydraulic brakes, with a 260 mm wave disc up front and a 220 mm disc at the rear.
Wave-style GSK discs are not just for looks but to assist in clearing mud and debris. Paired with a refined master cylinder and brake lever setup.
Frame & Swingarm
Husqvarna is sticking with their hydro-formed 25CrMo4 chromium moly steel frame featuring a shock that isn’t mounted directly to the main tube.
The subframe remains a hybrid of 60% polyamide and 40% aluminium to balance strength and weight (around 1.8 kg) .
The swingarm uses a die cast aluminium construction with a 22 mm rear axle and chain guide designed to resist snagging in the rough .
Ergonomics
ProTaper aluminium bars sit in black anodised CNC triple clamps with a wider contact area to reduce flex in crashes .
The seat is flat and covered in high grip material, with recessed panels to improve handling and lifting ease in tight or competitive terrain .
Electronics & Lighting
Electronics are a highlight. Standard fare now includes a Map Select Switch for choosing two EFI maps, plus toggles for Traction Control and Quickshifter (effective from 2nd gear up).
The offroad control unit (OCU) replaces bulky fuses and relays, each circuit is monitored and indicated via an LED, simplifying diagnostics in the field .
A bright LED headlight is retained, mounted via a quick‑release system for fast replacement if damaged.
